You will then have lunch very close to the Salkantay Mountain and glaciers, giving you an amazing view. After lunch and a little rest, we continue to climb steeply towards the highest point of the trek, the Salkantay Pass (4,800m, 15744 ft). From here, we descend for 3 to 4 hours with outstanding views and a breathtaking landscape until we reach our destination in time for dinner.

After breakfast we will continue the Salkantay Trek downhill to Colcapampa Village, while enjoying increasingly abundant vegetation. We continue walking past some waterfalls until we arrive at Wiñaypocco to enjoy lunch. After lunch, we walk through the high jungle, enjoying the natural surrounding landscapes and beauty. This region is thought to have among the highest number of orchid species in the world. The afternoon follows a gentle descent to the small, high jungle village of La Playa where our campsite is located and dinner will be waiting for us.

Today you will climb for about three hours through the jungle before descending to the interesting, but largely covered ruins, of Llactapata. From here, we have our first view of Machu Picchu, in the saddle of the mountain opposite. We descend for two hours to the impressive Machu Picchu Hydroelectric System where we will have lunch. After lunch, we will walk for 2 ½ hours along the train tracks to arrive at the town of Aguas Calientes and to your hotel. Here, you can have a massage and relax your very tired muscles.

Day 1: Capuliyoc - Rosalina

Stop At: Choquequirao, Peru
You leave Cusco on your own: from the Central Terminal of buses, take one in direction of Abancay. Ask the driver to drop you in Ramal de Cachora. From there you can take a cab to Cachora and then walk to the starting point of the trek) or directly to Capuliyoc. You may leave around 6:30 am to be sure to reach Capuliyoc at midday.

When you arrive in Capuliyoc you will meet Gladys, our friend of this community. You will share the lunch together in her house before starting the trek.

The trek starts at 2900 masl, you will pass by the Mirador de Capuliyoc and start the descend to the river Apurimac on 1800 m where we will pass the first night in the camping of Playa Rosalina. Ask for the base camp of Ritisuyo, your tent with sleeping bags and mattress are waiting for you.

Day 2: Rosalina - Marampata

Arrival for lunch at Marampata, afternoon and dinner at Marampata. Night in the house of Victor and Maribel, the place is called Las Orquideas.

Dinner and overnight under tents in Rosalina in the same place than the first night.

Operates: Our tour will begin with the pick-up from your hotel between 6:30 a.m. to 6:45 a.m. Beginning at 7:00 am, the tour will begin. Having Chinchero as the first stop point, we can appreciate the extensive fields of crops, which have been cultivated since ancient times. We travel along the shores of the Piuray lagoon, towards the community of Tauca (3762 masl) where our walk begins. We follow a dirt path, with a gentle slope towards the Pucajasa pass (4393 masl), where we will have a spectacular view of the Urubamba mountain range. This step is about 200 meters long. We started our descent and found sections of the Inka trail, and we can also see radical changes in the ecological levels. We arrived at Huchuy Qosqo (3688 masl), where we enjoyed our travel snack. After a brief descent, we will begin our tour of the Archaeological Complex, listening to the history of this place by the guide, after enjoying the Archaeological Center of Huchuy Qosqo and the spectacular view of the Sacred Valley we will descend in 2 hours to the town of Lamay ( 2938 masl), where we will have our Lunch. Then we will board our transportation back to the city of Cusco. We will finish our tour at approximately 6:00 p.m. Leaving it at your hotel in Cusco.
